(Mariana Spada) THERE WERE PLANS TO TAKE THE TRAIN ALL THE WAY TO LA PLATA that the storm soon dissolved: to roam the halls of feverish collection whales hung from scaffolding of tendons of corroded steel meteorites and cardboard mock-ups of the known universe and boxes full of bugs arrayed like fancy chocolates. Instead was rain and bed, a shattered mirror that beheld us fiercely from a corner, next to the wardrobe we inherited. We learned that the oblique reflection of our bodies can become the beginning of a more specific knowledge. We have our work cut out for us, and the desire not to finish it. (my translation) Mariana's book THE LAW OF CONSERVATION is hot off the press from Deep Vellum Publishing! You can find it here.

Congratulations, Robin! Both are so beautiful (and loving “oblique / reflection”).
